If you are reading this you have probably heard about DHH calling for an ethnic cleansing of London and Europe and you may also be aware of him getting major financial support from the password manager company 1Password.
Now a lot of people are arguing about if the political views and ethics of a person should affect how you treat his technical endeavors. "If the software is great then the political views of the creator don't matter", some would argue. This view falls apart very quickly tho once you consider that politics affect everyone and by supporting the tech you also support the people behind it.
There is no such thing as being non-political. Just by making a decision to stay out of politics you are making the decision to allow others to shape politics and exert power over you. And if you are alienated from the current political system, then just by staying out of it you do nothing to change it, you simply entrench it

I hope the backlash that 1Password is receiving right now will be enough for them to reconsider their actions. Even on Hackernews, which tends to be a bit more on the conservative side then Bluesky, people are upset which gives me at least some hope.
